Alan Bruun is a founding member of Mad
Cow and serves as Co-Artistic Director. As a director of over
60 professional productions of opera, musical theatre and drama,
Alan's productions have included Faust, Madama Butterfly,
The Fantasticks, Oklahoma!, Falsettos, Cosi
Fan Tutte, Master Harold and The Boys, Assassins
and A Few Good Men. A
popular and dynamic collaborator in the Central Florida arts community,
Alan has served as Artistic Director of The Civic Theatres and
Director of Production for The Orlando Opera, acted with The Orlando
Shakespeare Festival and Orlando Theatre Project, directed for
the University of Central Florida and collaborated with the Orlando
Philharmonic. For Walt Disney World, Alan serves as creative show
director for new projects and special events, creating high-profile
live entertainment both here and around the country. For Disney
he has directed, staged and written for Christopher Reeve, Michael
Eisner, General Colin Powell, The Phillip Glass Ensemble, Aerosmith,
Cirque du Soleil, Hayley Mills, two cruise ships and two thousand
exceptional children. Alan graduated from Occidental College,
Phi Beta Kappa also attending the London Academy of Music and
Dramatic Arts and New York University. For Mad Cow, Alan
has directed Betrayal, Master Harold, The Turn
of the Screw, 4Quartets, The Fantasticks, Ghosts, Anton
in Show Business and the award winning The Ballad of Reading
Gaol, Arcadia, Romeo and Juliet and Urinetown.
Alan also directed The Cherry Orchard - after a year long
exploration guiding The Chekhov Project.
